Our story
By the time Thomas Custom Woodwork first received licensing in 1986, Frank Thomas already had experience in rough and finish carpentry under his belt. With additional background as a drawing and paint artist, woodwork design and manufacturing were a natural fit.
In its early years the business focused mainly on finish carpentry, and is responsible for beautiful wood mouldings, casings, and ceilings found in homes throughout the greater Sacramento area and beyond. Later, the business expanded its offerings to include custom mantels, media centers, bookcases – many of which involved “hidden” features – and a variety of other items.
As an interest in engineering grew, so did the focus on cabinetry. Custom cabinets are a puzzle of design, efficiency, space, appearance, and feel. The work is challenging, and we take it on willingly.
